Online education is electronically supported learning where student joins the class in the virtual classroom. This classroom is not a real classroom. The learning in this classroom takes place through computer software or the internet. It is different from the real classroom where school designs to provide learning spaces and learning environment for the teaching of students under the guidance of teachers. The online system is not a new one but during corona pandemic it seemed to be the only alternative to replace classroom teaching. It seems to be more beneficial because it saves time and money. Google platform provides this education and students understand his course in mobile. We know that in the present time upskilling is becoming increasingly necessary. It is a self placed learning and helps students stay relevant in the quickly changing world. It costs less and has easier access to teachers. Above all the students enjoy the comforts of their homes. It is beneficial in view of better time management. The students are required to participate at set times through videoconferencing. It is more or less the self motivation that drives the students to excel in their performance. But contrary to these ideas we see that it has caused social isolation for students. The feedback is limited. Online learning cannot offer human interaction. Another disadvantage refers to the fact is that online courses cannot cope with thousands of students that try to join discussions. There is lack of communicational skill development in online students. It can be called a rough adjustment. Online education requires more time than on campus classes. It makes it easier to procrastinate.It requires good time management skill which is a matter of matured and experienced minds. How can we inculcate social values when students are isolated from school? How can they learn collaboration and communication which are part and parcel of interpersonal skills that help them work with one another?The children from poor rural background have either no internet connection or has no signal. Working continuously on mobile for hours together adversely affects the eyesight and health of students. Govt. will have to go over their problems and find a viable solution for that. As a whole online teaching can help us in receiving information and not education and we should also know that we are already drowning in information but starving for knowledge.
