The school has initiated a unique character development program called Student Empowerment through Values in Action (SEVA). It emphasises six core values namely Respect, Responsibility, Care, Integrity, Resilience, Cyber-wellness.
The general objective of this program is to transform children in the context of an eco-system of personal, social and environmental domains by enabling them to put six SEVA values into practice within the real-life situations.
Each SEVA value is assigned a score equal to 10. Thus, the six values generate a SEVA SCORE equal to 60. This is done to quantify the behaviour of students because numbers are likely to be more interpretable just like academic scores. So, all students are awarded 60 SEVA points per week i.e. 10 points for each value. This is done to recognize or acknowledge the SEVA attributes being followed by all the students unless otherwise reported. Whenever a student is observed to show an undesirable behaviour at school, he/she is given a frowny by the teachers. The SEVA score of that student also gets reduced by 10 points for each frowny. Also, the student is subjected to a brief counselling session using self-reflection worksheet. The teachers and parents give a smiley to students digitally through school App whenever they observe them showing some appreciable behaviour. The SEVA score of the student is also boosted by 10 points for each smiley earned in school or at home. Parents are encouraged to report smileys only.
Exhibiting Noticeable presence of SEVA value in Action
= Increase of 10 points
Exhibiting Noticeable absence of SEVA value in Action
= Decrease of 10 points followed by reflective counseling session.
