South Asia And Gulf Region International Round Square Conference At Him Academy Public School

110 delegates from 14 eminent schools of India and abroad met at Him academy Public School Vikas Nagar Hamirpur ( HP), India for Three days, to be a part of the Round Square International Conference of South Asia and Gulf region from October 29-31, 2018, on the theme, ‘Co-existence’.
Mrs.Papri Ghosh , Regional Director - Round Square, South Asia and Gulf region and Mrs.Rajveer Sandhu, School Support Director Round Square, UK remained chief guest and guest of honor respectively.Er.(Mrs.) Naina Lakhanpal welcomed the august gathering.
The opening ceremony was marked with the keynote speaker Mr. Ashok Sharma, an eminent Environmentalist from HP, who underlined the theme of environment protection.
Lt.Cmdr. Pratibha Jamwal, one of the members of Tarini project of Indian Navy, delivered an inspirational speech to inspire young minds. There were Brazza session for the children delegates wherein students from Indian High School, Al Ghubra, Oman, Chanderbala Modi Academy Gujarat, Punjab Public School Nabha, Patiala, YPS Patiala, Emeralds Heights School, Indore, K.C. Public School Jammu, Mody School Laxmangarh, RKK Public School Jodhpur, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Sunbeam School, Varanasi, Shriram School Aravali, Gurgaon, Vivek High School Chandigarh, Vidya Devi Jindal School Hisar and Him Academy Public School took an active participation. In the evening, the delegates moved to Dharmshala for the second day programme.
The second day was full of enthusiasm for the delegates met His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Er.(Mr.)Pankaj Lakhanpal shared about Round Square and conference with H.H.Dalai Lama and convened the discussion between Dalai Lama and delegates.
H.H.Dalai Lama blessed the delegates and asked teachers to inculcate values among the students. He said that in the modern world where conflicts prevail everywhere, we need to learn more from the Vedic literature that remained a great source of knowledge for the world. He also answered the questions from the delegates of different schools. The students also visited the McLeodganj Market.
On the third day of the conference Ms Shikha Shah an IITian organized a workshop in which she displayed how to prepare ‘best out of the waste’. Another session of Brazza meeting was also held on the theme, “Environment”.In the afternoon, various adventure activities were organised which thrilled the delegates. Tree Plantation is also done by the delegates.
During the closing ceremony, delegates displayed mesmerized cultural performances. Visiting different school delegates also shared their experiences about the host school and conference. All admired the splendid hospitality of the host school and mentioned that this conference will remain the part of good memories in their whole life. Students and teacher delegates were awarded with the certificates and souvenirs. Mrs Naina Lakhanpal, Principal, declared the conference closed after Conference Statement. A Director’s dinner along with the beats of DJ made this day worth cherishing.
The school management congratulated Mrs.Sunita Sharma,Round Square representative and the entire team of teachers on the successful organization of conference.
